Guitar Hero! Cover Bands! Prizes! ...Nudity?

Guitar Hero TorontoNow that I have your attention, I'm happy to say that the title of this post is NOT misleading. If you don't have to work on Thursday mornings, or even if you do, there's a little place on Queen West where you can satisfy not only your thirst, but your ever-growing need to kick your buddy's ass at Guitar Hero. It's called Rock N' Roll Pornography, it's happening weekly at the Bovine Sex Club, and it's pretty much my favourite thing in life.

FlickrThe Flickr team is in Toronto this week and will be buying drinks and snacks for anyone who shows up this Friday at C'est What between 6 and 8pm.

I emailed with National Flickr product manager Katheline Jean-Pierre who suggested the meetup was simply an informal get-together where she and a bunch of Flickr/Yahoo! folks hope to meet up with some Toronto Flickr fans. She also hinted that they might be giving out some new, free Flickr t-shirts to those who stop by.

Better get there early.

Rogers iPhoneAfter two weeks of taking in on the chin from readers of this site as well as irate Canadians from around the web, Rogers has finally succumbed to the criticism and dropped the data rates for the new 3G iPhone. The new rate, available only as a promotion for those who sign up before Aug. 31, gives iPhone subscribers the option of purchasing a 6-gigabyte data plan for $30 per month in addition to any voice plan. Previously, $30 would only have provided for 300 megabytes.
