vidTO: Flashback: Dave Stieb No-Hitter

Posted by Jerrold Litwinenko / April 2, 2007

The Leafs are fighting tooth and nail for that last playoff spot, the Raptors are having their best season in a long time, and the Jays start the season today in Detroit (a 1pm start for those of you fortunate enough to be able to watch during a work day).

Here's a trip back in time... to 1990. Watch Dave Stieb pitch the 9th inning to Pat Borders to complete the jays first and only no-hitter in team history. Check out the other pitchers that are coming out to offer congratulations: David Wells, Todd Stottlemyre, Tom Henke... what a team they had! (Also a key event in 1990 was the trade that saw Tony Fernandez and Fred McGriff go San Diego for Joe Carter and Roberto Alomar.)Let's go Blue Jays!

Jays scored a couple in the top of the 10th. 5-3 jays. 3 outs away from opening day victory, folks :)
