Wow. Flashbacks galore. This video was shot in 1985, and is amongst many other Ontario Place videos on YouTube, some dating back as far as 1975. I was just a wee one when this was filmed, and it's been ages since I've been there. Ontario Place surely does hold a lot of memories for me. I used to go every summer, with some or all of my 4 siblings.

Recalling the fun that was had in that water park puts a smile on my face.

Do you remember the punching-bag forest? It was great fun running through there bumping into everything... Avoiding the older kids who'd lie in wait and try to smash smaller kids with them in a squeeze-play scenario. Gods I loved Ontario Place when I was a lad... My son loves it too - we'll be going for sure next summer.

I went there last year with my brothers-in-law(who were 11 and 12), and had a blast at the water park! It was a really great day!

This is really awesome. It brings back great memories, and having two small children now, means all the more.

Now, I have a question for you guys:

Does anybody remember the "Adventure Playground" down on Lakeshore in the 70's or early 80's?

I remember playing there. It was like a huge junkyard of wood and nails. You would run through it, or take your time to build a fort.

I'm sure the number of injuries were countless, but it was fun.

So, anybody remember it? Or did I dream this up?

That was great. Ontario Place was THE place for kids in Toronto in the summer. Seeing the orange tent and that old swimming area (the best swimming hole ever!) brings a tear to my eye. As for the Adventure Playground, I remember it too! Used to go there with my summer daycare. They'd have old broken cars that we could smash and paint. I can't believe that place was allowed to exist!
