Pi Day!

Posted by St Dan / March 14, 2006

mmmm Pi
Number geeks of the world unite! It's Pi day today (3.14). While not as old as the holiday of Purim, which is also celebrated today (it's sort of akin to Halloween, Xmas, and Mardi Gras all rolled into one), it is noticiably more secular. Why not celebrate by eating pie, or phoning Avogadro - his number is (602) 214 1995.

You might be surprised how many Torontonians celebrate Pi day around the city - if you can find a group of engineering or maths students, there's sure to be a celebration, and Ein-Stein's on College, just across from the University, is always a great semi-themed, cheap pub to host your own Pi day party.

One shouldn't party too hard though, or they may need to beware their hangover tomorrow - the Ides of March.
