Tower Storage

Posted by Staff / Posted on November 16, 2009

Tower StorageTower Storage is found on industrial Wallace Avenue right beside the tracks. They offer a new facility and good rates. A 9x10 costs $196.54 (tax included) plus one month free, but watch out for the $10 one time fee for the gate access card. They have a retail store selling packing supplies, good security, climate controlled facilities and 24/7 access. Some units have drive up access but those on the second floor will require a trip up a freight elevator.

Wow what a place.Never seen a storage facility so clean, it's beautiful.Rates are reasonable. I highly recommend this facility, without a doubt the best in the city. Has loading docks for trucks and level loading too.

I have nothing but good things to say about Tower storage. Clean, secure, the staff were nice, pricing was reasonable, and having access to my stuff 24/7 was great (especially when you're in the thick of moving craziness). They billed us monthly, but the "lease" was a weekly agreement so you can move in and out whenever you need to. They even let us keep the key card when we moved out so if we ever need a storage space again, we can reactivate it and avoid the $20 set up fee.

It's kinda silly, but they named the hallways after famous towers (Piza, Eifel, etc.) so it's VERY easy to find your way around/find your locker easily.

This business has a lot to learn about customer service.

While the place is clean, I've had 2 major problems with this place in the past 6 months.

1) While we were moving my girlfriend out of her unit, truck full of her furniture to go into her tower storage unit, the security system was down at the business and no one could get in because of some security lockdown. This was an end of the month moving weekend. People are pulling up in trucks because everyone is MOVING at this time of month. We couldn't get a hold of anyone to let us in or answer questions. Someone set off a security alarm just so we could see if the security guy could do anything for us. (he couldn't).

We left angry messages on their answering machine and didn't receive a single call back. Ever.

2) This past weekend we wanted to move some things in and out of our storage unit for another move. We had a whole weekend of things to do that involved the storage unit. We arrive at the place with a car full of furniture only to see a note taped to the door saying that the storage unit was closed for the whole weekend.

What if we had rented a truck? There was no notification or schedule that this place was going to be shut down. Nothing. Our weekend was ruined for what we wanted to do and was probably worse for some other storage unit renters.

Didn't bother to call them as they probably would never call back.

If we didn't live so close to the storage unit, I'd take my business elsewhere. Be wary of renting from this place. You might have a day when you really need to get to something in storage, but the place could be closed or on a security lockdown with no customer service in sight.

Great place for storage. The facility are well lit and clean Overall it a great place to check out if you need some storage space long term or short term. The people there are very helpful and friendly.

The facility seemed clean and well laid out but they really dropped the ball on the service end of things.
I was told on the phone that there was a unit available which I immediately went down to look at. There were boxes in the unit and I was told, by the manager, that he would find out when it would be available since it was expected to be just a temporary use by them. He never called back. When I called back I was told that they were going to keep it and since they were an important customer (unlike myself I guess) he gave it to them.
He also told me he would let me know when another unit comes up but I get the impression that this is extremely doubtful.
I went to All Canadian instead...
