I don't normally post comments, but I felt I had to in this case because I just had my dog groomed here and I was so happy with the groom! I have a 6 year old Coton and she gets matted easily (and I get lazy about brushing her, I admit!), so she ends up getting shaved down when I want to keep her long. I wasn't able to see my regular groomer so I tried their groomer out and and I am so happy I did! I will definitely be making this my regular place for grooming.

I didn't know about this place before, and I found them through a google search for hard to groom dogs. The groomer was really nice and patient with me too (I may come off as a little paranoid about my dog, lol!)

If you need a new groomer, I definitely recommend this place :)

I found this place to be dirty and smelly. There's no green space for the dogs and they're all crowded in together. I do not recommend.

Hi Mary,
I felt I had to respond to your comments above as I am the owner of My Dog's Daycare and as your comment was not positive.

In terms of the cleanliness of the daycare, I can assure you that we sweep, wash the floors and disinfect several times per day with products that are friendly to both dogs and the planet. I am sorry if there was an odour that bothered you, but we absolutely keep things very clean and disinfected at all times.

As for not having "green space" for the dogs and the dogs being cramped together, nothing is further from the truth. We keep the number of dogs in the daycare very small so we can properly supervise them at all times and make sure they are playing together safely. They are also taken on long walks several times per day so they are properly exercised-we don't let them just go to the bathroom in an outdoor area. I think you would rather have your dog walked and exercised rather than just let outside to go to the bathroom, wouldn't you?

Finally, we have an absolutely loyal and dedicated clientele and we know and love each and every dog as if they were our own. The many client testimonials in addition to the many referrals we have attest to that.

I am very proud of our service and our daycare and wish you the best in your search for a daycare.

I had my standard poodle groomed at My Dog's Daycare and it was the best grooming job I have seen in over thirty years of owning poodles. I am switching from my old groomer to My Dog's Daycare immediately!

Regarding the comment from Mary above... I frequently take my dog to My Dog's Daycare and have no issues whatsoever with the cleanliness, or the care. By nature a group of dogs will generate some natural odours, but the facility itself is clean and the staff are very knowledgeable and caring. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone!

We took our 7 month old shih tzu there for a basic groom. I got a dog back that had been shaved from head to toe, even though the groomer was specifically asked not to completely shave him and more precisely just trim his beard, she not only shaved his face (and did a horrible job at it), she even cut his eyelashes off, talk about cruel. She shaved his private parts so low, my poor little guy had horrible razor burn for over a week. For the record, while he did have a bit of matting in his chest area, due to his harness, he had no mats on his face or private parts. Its absolutely disgusting that this person can call herself an animal lover after the trauma she put my puppy through. Take your pets to a groomer who cares about them and not trying to maximize the amount of money she makes for the least amount of work she does.

Hi Cyra, I am the owner of My Dog's Daycare and I am writing in response to your comment above. I would like to extend to you my sincerest apologies and I am saddened that you were not happy with our grooming services. I can assure you that your experience is an isolated incident as we have not had negative feedback from a grooming client before. We are very proud of our grooming services and that we have such wonderful relationships with our clients (both dog and human). The vast majority of our grooming clients are repeat customers and in fact most days we have a waiting list. I feel that I must correct your comment that our groomer is not an animal lover, in my long experience with animals I have rarely met anyone as committed to animals and their wellbeing as our groomer Cheryl. We would be more than happy to refund your money and if there is anything else that we can assist you with please do not hesitate to contact me directly. Very best regards ---Holly

Cyra,
I'm Cheryl, the groomer at My Dog's Daycare, and I am truly sorry to hear you did not like your groom. As Holly said, we have not had any negative feedback. I would like to take this opportunity to address your concerns that your puppy was treated cruelly. It is important to me that you understand that your puppy was not harmed and that great care was taken in his grooming. Shih tzus eyelashes commonly grow quite long and often because of the length can cause eye problems including watery eyes. Because of this, groomers will normally cut them short to provide the dog relief from the constant irritation. Some clients prefer to keep the lashes long anyway and I will always defer to their wishes and where it is clear that the lashes are severely bothering the dog will strongly recommend they consider shortening them. Just as I would never deliberately go against a client's wishes and cut a dog’s eyelashes where instructed otherwise, I would also never shave a dog that the client had asked me not to. I take immense pride in my work and in my ethics and would never shave a dog rather than demat in order to save time or maximize money. Clearly there was a miscommunication about how short you wanted Vader, and I am very very sorry that I got your instructions wrong. We do offer a money back satisfaction guarantee and although I cannot give him back his length, if you feel as you said that I did a bad job in general, I would happily take Vader back and fix what you'd like. With regard to his groin, some dogs do have clipper sensitivity and will get mild razor burn from shaving that area. This is quite common and if a client's dog broke out I would make a note in their file and either desist shaving that area or use a longer blade as this always corrects the problem. Finally, on a personal note, your comments about me not being an animal lover and being cruel truly hurts. If you knew how much of my life I have devoted to animals including rescuing, taking care of, and sponsoring them, you would know that I would never harm an animal. I apologize again that Vader got a groin rash and I assure you (now that I know he's clipper sensitive) that it would never happen again. I hope that you will give me a second chance, I really enjoyed Vader and talking to you.
All the best, and again, I'm very sorry for any reactions Vader had and any instructions I misunderstood.
-Cheryl, the groomer.

After speaking to Holly, the owner, we seemed to have reached a mutual compromise. I was immediately given a full refund and it seems that there was some miscommunication. During this process Holly was always very friendly and has gone above and beyond what I expected of her as a business owner. Thank you Holly.

I wanted to extend my sincere thanks to everyone at My Dogs Daycare. On my first visit, I took my very senior black lab Caleb (18 years old - 18!). She was kind and gentle with my special boy and did a soft wash, cleaning him and carefully clipping his nails with the utmost care around old, sore hips and joints. I was so incredibly grateful for her gentle touch in his final months.

After Caleb passed, I began to take Toby, my senior Great Dane there for nail clippings. In the past, I have had to sedate Toby and take him to the vet, where up to three vet techs have had to hold him down while he fought getting his nails trimmed. Cheryl knew exactly how to handle him and the entire process was quick and stress free (and extremely affordable). Knowing the discomfort that Toby use to feel with long nails and the pain and stress he went through getting them clipped, I couldn't be more thankful for Cheryl kindness and expertise in dealing with a large dog.

A heartfelt thanks to her and everyone at My Dogs Daycare for the care they have provided my beloved furry friends.
Sara
