Henry's Camera TorontoHenry's remains the go-to camera and video shop for many Torontonians. The huge space at Church and Queen covers the complete range of photo equipment from point and shoots all the way up to $40K Hasselblads with 60 megapixel digital backs. Add to the mix an impressive video department and a well stocked used department (much of which is posted to Ebay), and you've got one of Toronto's most complete photography destinations.

The best neighborhood place for cameras and film besides Downtown Camera.

After trying the rest, I now go to the best! Henrys Camera downtown store, although I have happily visited and purchased from their stores in Kingston, too. Friendly, knowledgeable staff and they do not try to upsell, or pressure you into a sale.

Highly recommended!

My defacto camera store when around the Big Smoke. Large store, lots of products, good service, and they aren't afraid to price match the others.

A number of years ago when I first became interested in photography, I went to Henry's and purchased a relatively inexpensive Canon point n shoot. It was pretty basic and the staff member who helped me was unbelievably arrogant if not out and out condescending. I vowed to never step into the store again.

Since then I have purchased a Canon G9, G10, 20D, 40D, an EOS500d, an EOS550d, a 5dM2 and a wide range of lenses including but not limited to a Sigma 8-16, a Canon 70-200 F4 IS, a Canon 17-40L, a Canon 85 1.8, Tamron 17-50, a Canon 24-105L as well as assorted filters and tripods. None of my money went to Henry's nor do I recommend the store to my photography friends. I am also now pretty good at taking pictures even though I started off with a "toy" camera.

So the next time Henry's decides to insult a customer because they are not laying down the big bucks, they would be well advised to think about what the customer could be buying over the next few decades.

I use Downtown Camera, Aden and Vistek. Downtown Camera are superb, Aden efficient and Vistek, especially the sensor cleaning guy, very very helpful. I love the sensor cleaning guy at Vistek: he once spent an extra 30 minutes getting rid of some glue of my 20D sensor (it had been converted to IR). He was awesome.

I had worst online purchase ever with Henry’s. Even though I had no experience with them before my first deal with them is the last one for sure. I really thought they are most professional photography store in Canada but if you read my story you will agree this is wrong.
I bought an open box camcorder from Henry’s few days ago and I received the item after two days in a cookie box!!! They put the camcorder box in a cookie box! Is it what you expect from a professional?
After first shock when I opened the box I tried to charge the battery but surprisingly it wasn’t work at all. I couldn’t believe that they haven’t checked the camera before sending to customer.
After that I sent an email to customer service and explained the problem and complain about their service. Next day they replied they just mentioned that if I don’t want the camera I can return it to them. Not even a simple apology!!!
So I went to their Brampton location to return it. After about 20 minutes waiting, when I explained why I want to return it and I asked them for explanation, the lady there told me that it is not her fault and it is normal for open box item to have problem!! And she did not bother to just simply apologize for their terrible service. After all of these they told me shipping cost cannot be refunded even it is all their fault!!
Finally after some discussion they refunded me in full but how can you forget this disastrous customer care.

I had a great experience with Henry's when i went to Toronto. I bought a Tamron lens and i didn't like it so much, then i back to the store to return the Tamron lens and change it for a Sigma... i had no problems with that.

Chasing the new Olympus OM-D at three stores listed here, my best experience was certainly at Henry's. They answered my call nicely and guided me to the only branch with just one in stock. The salesman was quite helpful and patient, leaving me completely satisfied, with an assmbeled kit in hand. They are not in any way comparable to the two other stores I dropped at, they are simply the best in terms of capabilities and stock. I wonder if the two negative reviews above, depriving me from starting at Henry's, are merely competitors trick!
