Have a bad meal? Good shopping experience? Discover a killer art gallery? The submit a review page is where to go to let everyone know what you think. But before you get started, take a look at our list of totally made-up questions (but real answers) that will hopefully clarify what this is all about. 

How do I submit a review to blogTO?

To submit a review, just fill out this simple form. 

How long should the review be?

There is no minimum or maximum word count. It really depends on how much you have to say about the place.  

Will my review be edited?

We try not to edit reviews except to correct spelling and grammar mistakes. We will never edit a review in a way that changes the meaning of what you're trying to convey. 

What places can I review?

You can review any place you want. As you might have noticed, there are already lots of reviews in our restaurants, fashion and other sections. But there are also lots of places we haven't reviewed and instead have only created a mini-profile for (basically, a photo and one or two sentences). These are places that are still waiting to be reviewed and will show up in the pulldown list on the submit a review page once you select a category. If you don't see the place you'd like to review included in this list, just enter its name in the field provided. 

Do I need to include a photo?

No. Photos are appreciated but not necessary. If you have photos to include, please upload them to a photo-sharing site (like Flickr) or your personal web site and include the links in the photo area of the submission form. If we think the photos are a good fit with the review then we'll include one or more of them. Please only include photos you have taken yourself or that you have received permission to use. Also, please make sure that any photos you upload are at least 590 pixels wide so that they fit in the layout of the blogTO web site.

Where will my review appear?

Your review will be the main review you see on the page for that listing. If a mini-profile already exists, we will simply replace it with your review and photos where applicable.

If I submit a review will it be published?

We aim to publish all submitted reviews providing they have enough detail and explanation and are not just ultra-brief reviews like "This place sucks. My food was cold." If that's the level of detail you'd like to contribute, we suggest that you include your remarks as a comment instead. Also, we do reserve the right to exclude reviews that are libelous, contain derogatory or hateful comments or are otherwise deemed inappropriate by the editorial team.

Will you publish my review if it's negative?

Yes. What we are looking for are honest reviews. So, it doesn't matter to us whether you loved the place or hated it.  

Can I submit a review for a place that you have already reviewed?

Yes. If the existing review is out-dated or a number of years old, we will consider replacing it with a more current review.  

Will I be notified if and when my review is published?

Yes. We will email you the moment it's published to the site.

How will I be credited for use of my review and photos?

Your name (that you provide to us in the submission form) will be included below the title but above the first sentence of the review. It will appear in a sentence like "Contributed by Your Name Here". If someone else should be credited for the photos please include this information and we'll credit them separately. We will also include a link to your personal web site or blog if you provide this to us.

Do I need to include my real name?

Not if you don't want to. If you write under an alias we don't mind using that.

Will I be paid for my review?

At this time we are not paying for any reviews.
