Wize Guyz Pizza
Wize Guyz Pizza is a pizza and sandwich restaurant located on The Queensway. Their Miami pizza is definitely one to try, as is their California chicken sandwich. The ingredients are fresh, and while the place is not fancy, there is a great degree of honest-to-goodness care that gets put into their offerings. You can also order online, and their location provides free WiFi so that you can dribble your pasta sauce all over your Macbook.

I had the Venice style pizza which comes with goat cheese, pesto, roasted red peppers and zucchini. It was a little light on the pesto, but it was really delicious. Pretty cheap as well. The smallest pizza is more than enough for one person. I even took a slice home. I'd love to go back and try some of their other pizzas. Would have to say when it comes to Toronto pizzarias, Wize Guyz is the best pizza in Toronto.
The sauce tasted so fresh (it didn't have that packaged, preservatives taste). The atmosphere leaves something to be desired. They have plenty of tables which provides for lots of seating.
My Italian husband, who is the pickiest pizza eater I have ever come across and who previously would only eat pizza that we made at home using expensive mozzarella, premium Canadian bacon, and Dole pineapples, said that this pizza is the best pizza in Toronto. I guess that means I don't ever have to figure out what to do with that half package of Canadian bacon that will inevitably be left over after piling some on top of the mozzarella that we just spent what seems like hours shredding, but I can manage.
Wize Guyz is the best. I'm just sorry I didn't find them earlier.
They say pasta is comfort food. Couple that with a place where you hear real life Italians talking in Italian, and you've hit a pretty good place.
First the bread: loving the fresh focaccia slice with a hint of sweetness. My tomato boconccini salad came shortly after with its big pieces of cool, soft boconccini and tangy tomato wedges. I had the bottles of balsamic vinegar and olive oil right there so I could spread to my liking.
I consulted with friends for my main course and they recommended the penne ala vodka baked with mozzarella cheese.... Besides, it's my new favorite Italian pasta dish in Etobicoke. It wasn't on the dinner menu, but my waiter was kind enough to order it for me with a very reasonable upcharge (under $3). It was a generous serving in a rich, creamy sauce with a hint of nutmeg in it. I skipped the extra cheese but went for black pepper instead.
All in all big ups for getting my "custom" pasta dish, for tasty food and for having the best pasta in Etobicoke.
