Vero Trattoria TorontoVero Trattoria is a newish restaurant on Bayview that replaced the suburban sounding Joey Fiasco's. The owners have earned their stripes at Bar Italia and have created a menu heavy in pizza, pasta and salads.

Two friends and I had a great meal here last night. The pasta and panna cotta were delicious, as was the California cabernet. Service was excellent and very low key, the decor lovely and good acoustically so that we could converse easily. Very happy experience.

WORST EXPERIENCE, BURNT FISH, INCOMPETENT SERVERS, SOGGY VEG??I've never walked out of a restaurant in my life!!

Firstly our sever Anthony described a Sea Bass as the special, NOTT! what came out was a MEDITERANIAN bass - BIG DIFFERENCE .. what a moron!

Second, as we watched the open kitchen, the chef and counter staff were EATING the dishes as they were being served? On top of that, lots of hands touching mouths/noses throughout service... ???

We ordered two specials- both fish courses. Mine came out so OVERCOOKED and BURNT, I couldn't eat it. The veggies on the plate were cooked hours in advance, YELLOW ROTTON asparagus that SAGGED?? My wife's fish had a duo of problems- BURNT and RAW on the same fish!! Her risotto, was so mushy it was almost soupy!

No apology, no offer of dessert, nothing except a rude arrogant owner Erez storming off and avoiding us the entire time.

DO NOT GO TO VERO!!! unless you enjoy over cooked food, veg that can pass for baby food, and sharing your meal with the kitchen staff.
And worst of all, dealing with incompetent servers/management. NEVER AGAIN!!!

To the above poster - I see you have posted on other websites. What exactly is your agenda?
I ate at Vero last night. The food and atmosphere were pretty good. I remember Erez from his Banfi days and I've always loved Bar Italia. It's a nice addition to that sleepy Bayview strip.

I had a fabulous lunch experience here recently with a friend. The atmosphere is elegant and yet friendly. My server responded to our enjoyment with a reason. "It is filled with our love!" We enjoyed the best orange pepper soup ever and cant wait to return to enjoy some of the other great dishes we saw being thoroughly enjoyed by those around us. Conversation was easy and I especially liked the way a couple were seated at the far end of the next table to allow for our privacy as long as possible during a busy time. I loved it!!

I cant believe you could have had such a negative experience here as I observed all the others around us at a busy time of day and they all without exception were really enjoying their meals. I loved the presentation of the other dishes and was trying to see if people behaved like they were liking their food. They were without exception!!

Chrissy obviously has an agenda, blasting this establishment on many sites with every imaginable attrocity a restaurant could commit. I am rarely overly impressed with Italian cuisine but this meal was absolutely superb. The service was outstanding, presentation was beautiful and the food was delicious. What a treat to wander in to a place and expect the ordinary only to enjoy a truly memorable meal. Will definitely return soon! Great ambiance.

The negative review looks pretty suspect to me...'Raw and burnt fish'...'Rotten asparagus'come on...

I tried Vero a few months ago for brunch, terrific Omletes and have since had lunch and dinner there with friends and family...

The food is REALLY GREAT...And priced very well for what you get...I have dined at some of the best rated restaurants in Toronto and I have to say dollar for dollar this restaurant is top 5 for me when balancing quality and freshness with great value as the dishes are very well priced...

Although price is not the most important thing to me as a consumer, it is nice to know that you can still get a great meal and pay a fair price...

Took a couple there for Anniversary and I have to say the Bar was top notch...Manhattans, Martinis, we where really enjoying ourselves and the service friendly and whoever was serving us was very funny and made our night really enjoyable...Last ones there, did not feel rushed at all...

I am now a proud regular and although no restaurant is perfect, I certainly did not see any evidence of the post above...Very clean, organized and polite...

Overall a really good place to dine at a reasonable price...

Going there tonight!
