The Ballroom TorontoThe Ballroom is more than just a bowling alley. The former Montana's space has two floors, 52 TVS and an upscale pub fare menu featuring braised pork pot pie, fried pickles and a $22 plate of nachos.

Good concept, but to be successful they'll need a lot of work to the upstairs space design, the food, and the service. I'm sure it'll happen, I went a few weeks after opening and I'm guessing the pre-frozen wings will get replaced and things will get better with time.

As of right now, compared to Real Sports this places falls incredibly short in every way.

Ugg they completely screwed us over FabFind vouchers. They claim they weren't good for sat/sun matinee bowling but the voucher and deal page said nothing about the restriction. Oddly The Ballroom's own twitter makes no mention of this restriction.

No one there seems to have a clue.

If you're going to the Ballroom don't expect good service or decent food. Not only is everything on the menu overpriced and absolutely horrible, but they actually go out of their way to make sure they don't take care of you.

Here's a synopsis of our evening:

1. incapable/rude girls working the bowling alley - is it really that hard to make a waiting list and stick to it?
2. oblivious hostess
3. bartender doesn't realize she is supposed to serve drinks to people at her bar. and is exceptionally rude.
4. 2 and a half hour wait for lanes, AND still don't have 2 lanes that we asked for.

place is a joke.

The only good thing about this place was $5 pints at happy hour.

Food is a ripoff. We got the half price one pound wings (yeah, we're cheap) but it turned out there were only six wings served. I am not sure that weighs one pound, but we thought someone was putting their finger on the scale. But the taste was below average.

Most of the staff were just standing around talking amongst themselves as there were just a few customers. The one poor bartender seemed to be the only one working hard.

Good place only to have a cheap pint at happy hour the Entertainment district.
