Every Wednesday I visit the humble kiosk of SAKURA inside the Village by the Grange. It has been there for the past decade and each time I visit, I always get the same thing: Beef Noodle Soup.

The unfortunate part of my dietary restriction is that I not consume any raw meat type foods, ie: sashimi *oh how I love thee*, for fear that it will induce the runs several hours later. So aside from the Teriyaki and Katsu rice dishes, the next one would be noodle dishes, ie: Udon.

But this isn't the thick sticky Udon noodle they normally use. Actually it's a type of Ramen, instant noodle and it's the best noodle I've ever tasted.

For $4.00 with your choice of beef, chicken or vegetable, one bowl is known to satisfy its loyal patrons for lunch or dinner. It's perhaps their best selling dish on the menu as I remember bowls and bowls stack atop each other during the busy lunch hour.

There are also numerous other items on the menu including rice dishes and sushi rolls.

Check out SAKURA inside the Village by the Grange at the corner of McCaul and Dundas across the AGO and OCAD.
