Ristorante Roma
Family friendly during the day, beer-buddy friendly in the evenings, this Italian spot along Bloor St West near Dovercourt has owned this corner for years with a classic menu and friendly service.

This place was recently featured on Restaurant Makeover and it was a reno for the better-- the place looks 10x nicer than before. It's a nice neighbourhood italian / pizza place with great, good-value food.

open late, decent food but the service is consistently bad.
Better to cycle up to st.clair and pay less.

New owners took over and everything got better. Service is great and food is super. They have made it a wonderful place to eat and fun place to return. Ordering is worth it as well.

I recently moved to the area and decided to try this restaurant out as there are a lot of promotions on it (group coupons, entertainment book). I quickly found out why. The food is sub par (I've had better food at East Side Mario's). The waiter was snooty when I advised him (prior to ordering) I purchased a group coupon to use. He made a snarky remark and said "oh great". I then told him I live in the area to try to take away some of his negative views of the coupons and perhaps think about the fact that it may result in repeat business. Unfortunately as much as my good intentions were, the food and service doesn't give me any reason to go back. If the owners put out these coupons for new business they should really do more (delivery quality service and food) so that the efforts don't go to waste.
