Had the opportunity to try Pachuco this past weekend and I was pleasantly surprised. I had the Goat Cheese and Sundried Tomato Guacamole, and OH. MY. GOD. was it ever delicious. You get a huge portion of it with chips for $8, and splitting that with my partner stuffed us before the entree. I had the pulled pork and he had the brisket, and I liked them both in different ways (the dishes are easy to share as they provide both your tortillas in one steamer). The modern twists they put on Mexican food are executed perfectly and the prices are pretty reasonable. The only thing I disliked about the restaurant was the smell of ammonia that was noticeable upon entering, and especially in the bathroom. I can't tell if this is because the place is so clean (it looked it) or if the scent is lingering from its previous usage. In any case, the place is cozy and beautiful, and the food was so yummy I stopped noticing or caring about the smell.

I'm gonna keep this short and sweet. This place blows! Its in a tiny basement that they try to make cool but who are we kidding, it looks like a bomb shelter. Secondly, I ordered the guacamole bc of the review above (prob written by pachuco himself) and it was dry and flavourless. I also ordered the taquitos cochinitas and taquitos picodillo and when they came, i felt like the had gotten the wrong table. They looked like something out of a pig's trough. And they were the size of baby's food ($16 a plate) I'm getting really tired of toronto's lack of good Mexican restaurants. The only good Mex resto is Grand Electric in the west end and it's a 5hr wait.

@Jose Hmmm weird bc I was there last week and it was wonderful. Huge portions, great good and drinks. Maybe you just caught them on a bad day? The Danforth is still the best place to get any food period in the whole city =D
