Oishii Japanese RestaurantOishii Japanese Restaurant & Bar has taken over from Kaiseki Sakura which never seemed to get much traction for its high-end Japanese cuisine. While the look of the restaurant may not have changed that much, the menu now places a much bigger emphasis on raw fish.

This place is HORRENDOUS.
Went in, it was completely quiet. Got our menus and waited 30 MINUTES. 4 groups of asian teenagers came in [we were 4 white adults], they get served first. We try and get someone to take our orders, they sneer and scoff and serve the newcomers. We wait AN HOUR before someone comes over relunctantly. We wait ANOTHER HOUR for our food, only to have TERRIBLE, TERRIBLE FOOD POISONING. I'm still throwing up [this was last night, hallowe'en] and we weren't being offensive or anything. Either they RRRRREEALLY don't know how to prepare their food, or they did something to it.

Want good sushi and proper service? My money is with Hosu on Queen and John.

Sounds like you were victimized, Amanda. A phone call to the ministry of health is in order here. Thanks for the warning. These EVIL IDIOTS need to be shut down for good.

hmm,let me get this straight....you waited 2 and a half hours with nothing on your table. Why sure, that sounds totally normal and not a terribly thought up troll post at all.

Their price is totally insane compared to the quality. I ordered a sashimi rice bow to go which costs near 20 dollars. Even more than those premium authentic Japanese sushi bar.

I'm so surprised by the negative reviews! We thought this place was some of the best sushi in the city. SO fresh, and great, friendly service too. I will definitely be going back.

Reading these reviews I see a few prissy little girls. since I have been here many times. and as a chef appreciate the honest quality and atempt they are making. I will enjoy all my times here and will continue to bring guets for a wonderful time.

I have been to this place several times since it became Oishii and I love it! For all you can eat sushi, the selection isn't very big, but what they do make is delicious! One of my fav ayce sushi places in Toronto. And the service was always friendly. The food comes fast, just sometimes the waitress got too busy with other tables to bring our bill.
