McQueens PubMcQueen's Pub has taken over the space on Queen East once home to Toast Restaurant. The menu features the usual pub favourites, chicken wings and smoked meat sandwiches from Caplansky's.

An absolutely tragic beer selection on tap, and it has several TV screens showing sports. This is actually good, though. Where else in Leslieville can you get Molson on tap and watch the game?

Friendly staff. Good menu. Their nachos with beef chili is very, very tasty (and properly layered with cheese and stuff - not just a heap of dry chips with toppings dumped on top). Their beef sandwich with the au jus dip is also tasty.

Huge letdown in terms of the beer selection. Absolutely appalling that in the age of the micro breweries they have little to none on tap to offer their patrons. With plenty of other options around with better beer selection they better catch up to the times quick!

First off let me say I am not a person that usually complains about service or portion size. I got the calamari appetizer expecting the usual full plate/full bowl that EVERY other pub gives. What I got was a small bowl, half full of lettuce garnish..2 lemons taking up a quarter of the bowl, leaving only a quarter of the bowl for the calamari. I was in disbelief and counted only 8 calamari rings. Since i'm not one to complain about much, my boyfriend politely told our server that the portion size seemed to be on the small side. She replied with a bit of attitude "Well, that's our serving size. It's an appetizer." It's a cute little pub but I definitely will not be back there. $9 +tax not well spent.

p.s. The beer selection is sad.

Nice to see some of the "old" Leslieville still survives. Only place nearby to watch a hockey game on Saturday night. Nice bartenders, decent beer selection.

Horrible experience. Ordered Garlic Bread + 2 Sandwiches. Garlic bread was 5 small medallions of French Stick that arrived cold ($6). Sent it back. Food arrived 2 minutes later, Roast Beef dip arrived cold and leathery ($14). Spoke to the manager who suggested this isn't a place for people like us and he's never had a complaint. Bolted out of there. They are charging way too much for this nonsense. 0/5.

Went in with a bunch of friends last Wednesday night and we weren't sure what to expect. Well, good news. They have a brand new menu with some great pub fare. Fresh and well-prepared. Plus, the prices are extremely reasonable. The atmosphere is cool and the staff friendly. And they have a well-equipped dart room with a huge TV, so we played a few games. All in all, a very pleasant surprise. Thumbs up from this corner. Will go again.
