This is one of the worst places I have been in a long long time. The wait was just over an hour. And when the food finally got there is was scant at best I wouldn't recommend this place. However Right next door, Banjara is a fabulous indian restaurant with great service and better food. We only went to this place because Banjara was closed.
Wow, I really couldn't disagree more with the above comment. My partner and I eat at this restaurant at least twice a month because it is really off the charts delicious. Well I have never once found myself impatiently waiting, I guess Saladays might be right-- maybe the food does take slightly longer than other restaurants. Guess what? That means there's a level of care going on in the kitchen-- good food takes time. If you want fast food then go to McDonalds. As far as portion size, I'm usually packing a second meal home with me. The dosa are huge, the thali is beyond fathomable.
These guys really care about their product: they recently switched their meat distributor to someone incredibly high quality. Try the lamb-- I really haven't found a higher quality lamb in the city. Beyond that the server is so sweet and super interesting: he has a really broad knowledge of cuisine and he's a super nice guy.
Saladays, I really think you should give MM another try. I wouldn't hesitate to say that it's in my top three restaurants in Toronto.
My daughter visited southern India last year and was so pleased to find this place: she said that the sambar was the BEST she had had since returning from India.
I cannot agree with the first writer: we found the service and food to be pleasant, very fast and DELICIOUS!!!!! The dosas and the thali - mmmm, mmmm, mmmm.
I've been to this restaurant several times now, and I just love it. Definitely some the best Indian food you'll find anywhere outside of Little India. The dosas are especially good, but really, I've never had anything there that I didn't like. And like TOchowgirl said, the portions are generally large enough to make a second meal of at home later.
