Louis Authentic Gyros and Souvlaki Take-OutLouis Authentic Gyros and Souvlaki is a small food stand housed in Louis Meat Market. This is a great concept because customers know they're buying fresh meat. For under $5, you get a massive all-dressed gyro with tomatoes, onions, tzaziki and fries. The guys behind the counter are super friendly and passionate about their food - last time I was there I had a one-hour conversation with them about the art and science of how to make a proper gyro.

I just ate at Louis the other day and it was amazing. I had never tried a Gyro before and then I went to Alessandro's, Messini and Louis during the same week. Alessandro's had better mean than Messini but Messini offered a larger portion. Louis was pretty much the best of all worlds. Large Gyro, great fries (not too much), and the meat was perfectly seasoned. They did theirs a little different because they added greek dressing to the gyro along with Tzatziki. If there was anything that I would change, it would be for them to hold the seasoning salt. I thought that the Gyro was a little salty and it could have done without it. Besides that, it was amazing and I am going back as soon as I can. $3.95 is not too shabby for a huge pork Gyro.

These guys have the best marinated chicken and pork. Then they grill it to perfection. Nice and krispy. Totally old-school butcher turned resto.

Just tried this place last night after already sampling other recommended spots on Danforth (Messini, etc.) Must say, we were not too excited once we saw the layout and the look, but MAN was that some of the best gyros I've ever had. Amazingly tender chicken and pork, and tremendous tzatziki. Absolutely recommended!

How is this place rated so low? they do everything great here and amazingly cheap, unless you are some jerk who is so offended by its simple presentation (you can't judge this place for that) there is nothing wrong with this place.

Use to work there, It's unfortunate the owner, Louie is essentially a cheap asshole that has absolutely no business sense. He does not realize the Goldmine that is his product and does no marketing or renovations to his store. That place could be more popular than messinis, if only he had vision.
