Louis Authentic Gyros and Souvlaki is a small food stand housed in Louis Meat Market. This is a great concept because customers know they're buying fresh meat. For under $5, you get a massive all-dressed gyro with tomatoes, onions, tzaziki and fries. The guys behind the counter are super friendly and passionate about their food - last time I was there I had a one-hour conversation with them about the art and science of how to make a proper gyro.

I just ate at Louis the other day and it was amazing. I had never tried a Gyro before and then I went to Alessandro's, Messini and Louis during the same week. Alessandro's had better mean than Messini but Messini offered a larger portion. Louis was pretty much the best of all worlds. Large Gyro, great fries (not too much), and the meat was perfectly seasoned. They did theirs a little different because they added greek dressing to the gyro along with Tzatziki. If there was anything that I would change, it would be for them to hold the seasoning salt. I thought that the Gyro was a little salty and it could have done without it. Besides that, it was amazing and I am going back as soon as I can. $3.95 is not too shabby for a huge pork Gyro.
