Katz's Deli

Katz's Deli
Katz's Deli on Dufferin (not to be confused with the Katz's Deli in New York) is an expansive deli and corned beef house. It's close to as authentic as you'll find in Toronto.

There's a good reason this place shouldn't be confused with the real Katz's -- it's horrible (and yes, I have been to Katz's in NYC -- the food is amazing, albeit pricey). The meat is flavorless and dry, the service is indifferent, and it's about as authentic as a mall stand. The nicest thing I can say about this place is that it has parking.

Re: dakmat's comments. HOW TRUE!

If you are looking for an overpriced food experience, a worn-out 1980s student cafeteria atmosphere and a rude and obnoxious manager, you have arrived!

Katz's in New York IS THE authentic Katz Deli with a great history, atmosphere and authentic food, while this one is a really tired and shabby barn. It features frozen french fries, miniature drinks, un-trimmed meat that is dry and very salty, and dirty tables. A consistently poor experience; and I am not going back. Blahhh - a rip off.

Good but super expensive and not the friendliest staff. Lots of parking...

In the 1970s when Katz's was across the street from current location, it was very good. They moved 2 times since and each time the food when down hill even more. Now days the corned beef has no flavor, none, like eating cardboard. Ant yes the staff is rude they learn it from the owner, who has always been rude.
