Govardhan Thal

Govardhan ThalGovardhan Thal is a vegetarian restaurant that serves home-cooked Gujarati Indian food. A far cry from the creamy curries on meat that many associate with mainstream Indian cuisine, this place specializes in tasty vegetarian dishes: spinach, chickpeas, lentils, and tomatoes to name a few, all lovingly blended with strong tasting spices, and in an all-you-can-eat buffet offering with small metal plates. Don't forget to try their khaman, a sweet and salty snack concoction made from (what else?) chickpeas.

The worst experince ever had in my life. I won't recommend to take your kids if they are infant as they do charge u half of the price for kid.the worst customer service and manager was really rude. If anyone looking to eat thali or request thali first they yes and after that they charge you for full price of buffet. Never gonna go back or recommend anyone to go there.q

This place is not recommended at all. Terrible old cold food is served, at their both location Etobicoke and Scarborough. Don’t surprise if you end up in hospital from food poisoning after having food at this place. The owner shouts and insults at customer if customer asks for fresh food or even water refill. The interact machine is always out of order, to generate tax free cash money from Customer. (They charge tax to the customer in cash payment, and denied to provide receipt so the owner can avoid paying tax to government.). BOTH LOCATIONS OF THIS RESTAURANT ARE NOT RECOMMENDED.

Today nov 18 we had our worst ever buffet of life at their new Albion mall place. They bring food from Toronto lichen and we found 90% dishes were smelling bad and found them rotten. My stomach still aching.

Contrary to what people say, me and my family love eating here. I take the family maybe once a month. I have two young boys and the 7.99 we pay for them I think is fair. I have never been sick, I love the variety they have and NEVER have they served spoil food. The price is reasonable, the service is ok, and I recommend ppl to try it.

This restaurant is not recommended. cold, left over food. not coocked properly. all items advertised are not available. not enough room to move around. Tax charged and not used cash register to register transaction. Bad experience.

Govardhan Thal at Albion mall Etobicoke location is well decorated, spacious restaurant serving Gujarati food.
I arranged new year party at Albion-Etobicoke location and was completely satisfied with service and welcome we got from staff and owner. All invitees enjoyed lot.Food was hot and fresh and there was plenty of different variety.I Strongly recommend this place as first choice for Gujarati food in GTA.

This is the worst place i have ever been in my life. I am a gujrati and i know exactly how gujrati food tastes like, their veggies were rotten and smelling bad. If you ask for rotis it takes 15 minutes and in between we had remind this guy to bring rotis. The owner is hidden in his house as he doesnt come to his own restaurant. Debit machine doesnt work and they didnt even bother to put a note for customers that machine is not working. I would better starve then eat at this pathetic, disgusting restaurant. I would never never recommend anyone to go to this place. OVERALL IT SUCKS AND I AM SURE THE OWNER KNOWS THIS AND HE IS LEAST BOTHERED......A FRUSTRATED CUSTOMER....

First time at Govardhan Thal in Scarborough this evening. Tasty food, if on the slightly hot (chilli) side. The complimentary mattha (buttermilk) was welcome. Didn't try all the snacks or sweets, but the meal was very good, though the subzis were a little oily. The oondhiyu was excellent as were the hot phulkas and bajra roti. Not the best in terms of space, layout etc., and going for refills was a squeeze, but very homely. Will be going here regularly from now on.

We went there today and the food was good. The place was packed with people. On our way out, we bought DABELI Sandwich and Dhokla. The buffer is $9.00 / person. Dabeli - $ 1.25 each and Dhokla (5 Pcs) for $ 2.00.
