Drupati's (Scarborough)
Drupati's is just north of Ellesmere on Bellamy, one of three Drupati's restaurants in the GTA. The obvious choices here are the roti and doubles, though Drupati's menu also includes items such as Aloopie and Pholourie. The space offers lots of seating with two subtly different table sets and a few grocery items waiting by the counter.

I've been scouting around Scarborough for a few months now trying out different Roti places and Drupati's wins it hands down! I had their chicken roti and I was blown away at how delicious and flavourful it is. It's also my first time trying Doubles and I am hooked. What a pleasant mix of flavours that personifies Trinidad.
I give it a 10/10! They will satisfy any caribbean cravngs you have!
Cheers!
I have tried doubles in every nook and cranny in Toronto and on Liberty Ave. in Queens as well as Ft. Lauderdale and Miami ; their doubles is #1 it's not one thing but the combination that makes it special. I had two UWI visitors last month and they gave it a 9 out of 10. Apparently there is a doubles man in Curepe which is on par and sometimes better. For their roti, my feeling is that the curry has changed over the last 6-7 years. it's now more east indian flavour; the marsala s are different. The pelau (this is my food)is a 5 and the stew chicken needs more body to the stew, but all the shops all allot of water. But it is the place for real home food. The only thing I can't find is roast pork but it will be worth the drive from Oshawa. Cheers

The show was not very well organized (no organization at all). No security at the door to check for weapons or anything else upon entering the premises(did not feel safe). There was chaos to get chairs upon arrival (4.15 p.m.). It was very hot inside (air was sorely needed with so many bodies in one room). We had to "fight" to get some chairs that were stored in a room in the back (all the chairs were not put out for the patrons). Tickets were being sold at the door (after hearing that they were not allowing purchase at the door because of "sold out" advanced tickets).
There were more people in that Hall than the allotted safety numbers. If the Fire Mashall had arrived there, they would have closed down that show and everyone would have been sent home. The Sponsors are lucky that no one called the Fire Marshall for them.
The purchase or a drink was utter choas (no system in place) - did not even know what drinks they were selling (no sign for everyone to see but only a little flyer on the counter when you reach up to the front of the line and by the time you read what was available, people in the back shouting for you to hustle up and order.
I encountered several people at the show who were complaining that they thought they were back in Trinidad with all the hassle they experienced at that Show. Everyone thought he/she would be attending a "first class" Show with such great Performers but it was utter chaos. I have attended several Parang Shows in Canada sponsored by different people over the years and they were all well organized (may be a little late starting) but nonetheless offered an enjoyable evening which patrons paid for.
Radica & Dave and their Sponsors need to consult with people like Joan Alexander and others to organize a true Parang Show where everyone could enjoy an evening out and not come out to "fight" for chairs to sit and enjoy show.
I could have stayed home and enjoyed the comfort of my home but instead, I chose to come out and have a good time - which I did not. In the end, I left early before I can get my money's worth.
Sorry - I will not be attending any Shows again organised by these Sponsors.
