Dim Sum King

Dim Sum KingDim Sum King is one of those restaurants that pretty unequivocally states what their specialty is right in their name. Located in Chinatown, this rather simple restaurant specializes in serving a large variety of fresh dim sums in those stereotypical food carts that we know and love. Weekend mealtimes get really busy here, but the service is usually quite efficient and the quality of the food always good.

Very good! Very good food and fair pricing. Worth a visit.

Terrible service. Food came very slowly and we weren't able to get the dishes we wanted. Unlike other dim-sum places my family and I like to frequent along Dundas that push food on us, which we appreciate, at the Dim Sum King we would have to go out of our way to get the servers and waiters' attention.

The place was pretty desolate on the week day so it kinda made us wonder if it was any good. We ordered some dim sum which was made and cooked fresh, not as much of a selection as I'm used to having with other places since I cannot eat shrimp...My husband said the hargow was very good. They also didn't have one of the veggie options we asked for and tried pushing other items on us instead, very annoying! My main "beef" was their menu clearly stated to notify them of any allergies - which we did. I wasn't aware that a pork item I ordered also contained shrimp. The waitress should know to tell the kitchen which she clearly didn't understand or do so. It was very disappointing that they don't train their staff to be aware of the consequences of severe allergies, luckily mine is body shuts down after 2 hours and for 2 hours and I get extremely sick. They took the item off our bill, gave us a 10% discount and free desert (which was not very good)...we will not be going back.

Mediocre food. Terrible service. Overcharged for domestic beer. Would not recommend. Aesthetic does not match the experience.
