Boehmer TorontoBoehmer is the first restaurant by Toronto chef Paul Boehmer (ex. Ultra Supper Club, Spoke Club) and finally he has a place he can let his cooking do the talking. Still, food is just half the story here - with the impressively designed space and luscious line-up of cocktails garnering well deserved attention.

New cocktail list coming out next week at Boehmer, with new bar staff and new management. FYI.

terrible . over priced food for the quality they're putting out. And it's coming out on awkward plates! My salad came on the most ridiculous skinny long bowl like plate? - made no sense. Server also neglected my table (of 2) to flirt with the 905 bachelorette party

Went for dinner late Sat. evening without a reservation. There happened to be a table just leaving and the hostess assured us she would clean it right away - 20 minutes later we were sitting. Another 20 minutes later someone came by to take our drink order, and you can imagine how the rest of the evening went. The service was absolutely terrible, with no attempt made to apologize for it. It would have been understandable had our section been busy, but it wasn't and the server would simply disappear. That said, the food was good.

Pretty terrible. Dined at Boehmer for a work event on a Tuesday. We were a party of 18 lawyers, and our server was completely incapable of handling the size of the group. I have never experienced service that bad anywhere in the city. We ordered drinks on arrival which took about 20 minutes to arrive. That is not an exaggeration. Food was similarly tardy, and was very unsatisfactory when compared with the pricetag. The server was not at all interested in whether anyone needed another drink, and trying to flag her down to place an order was a serious challenge. When she finally did come around, she actually yelled at 2 members of our group when they attempted to order a drink and a dessert.

The oysters were very good, and very fresh, the wine list was good, but the service was abhorrent. Similarly, the food was overpriced and didn't blow anyone's socks off.

We certainly hope that the duo in your party had the panache to yell back "NO TIP FOR YOU" back at her.

DO NOT GO HERE if you're having a larger party. I've worked in the industry for years and had a restaurant myself but what these guys are doing is wrong. They add a 25% tip to every table over 6. I am personally not a fan of the autograt even when serving but this is ridiculous especially with mediocre service. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. Sorry Paul. You need this fix that.

The Auto Grat is 18% On the Sub total for groups of 8 or more.
If you're going to trash talk; get your facts straight.
