I've been wanting to review this "restaurant" since my wife and I spent $40.00 (approx,) on a take-out there about two years ago (2008). I love Indo/Pakistani foods *as does my wife), and I've been eating it for the past 55 years: about 50 of those years at Indian restaurants. The 'stuff' Ali, from behind his curtain - you can't, or couldn't, see the kitchen - produced (naturally we only opened it up when we got home) was totally void of any meat [it was supposed to be a meat curry, and I believe a Saag, plus roti of some kind], and consisted solely of sauce. And it wasn't even a good sauce. I know my curries, and this was the worst excuse for Indian type food I've ever come across in those 55 years (I'm 71). This is not sour grapes, I assure you. I can only say that we were absolutely disgusted, and threw it away. And, rather than go all the way back there to complain, we vowed never ever to go there again. It was as though he'd finished cooking for the day (assuming he cooks, and doesn't just buy it from a restaurant elsewhere?) and saw us as a couple of non South-Asian mugs who wouldn't know the difference between the left-overs he gave us, and the real thing. I don't get around that end of Queen too often, hence my failure to go back and tell him in person that he's a Charlatan! This is not sour grapes, I assure you, but absolutely true. Perhaps one day if I have the time, I'll go and tell him in person what I think of him and his lack of any ethical practice. In the meantime, though a little expensive for the area (no more so than Ali was), I suggest that if you really love Indian food, you go to the Real Taste of India, about 2 miles west of Ali's, on the north side of Queen E. It's next door to the the great Irish Pub, Murphy's Law, which is on the north-west corner of Kingston Road. It's a small Indian Restaurant (nothing to write home about in terms of decor) that serves the very best Indian Food that I've ever found in the GTA - I've visited perhaps 80 or so Indian restaurants in the past 27 years - and is the ONLY ONE one that has been up to the high standards you'll find in the UK. Try it. If you love good Indian food, you won't be disappointed.

I have been eating at this restaurant for over 6 years; as far as I know this is a great family owned restaurant. The food is made to order and the service is always excellent! My family and I always look forward to their food every friday night.
