FOOD | 2nd Toronto's Hottest Chef
Tonight, the Great Hall is the place to be for the ultimate gastronomic competition: the finals of the 2nd Annual Toronto's Hottest Chef contest! Nine local culinary masters will battle it out to raise funds for a good cause (plus awareness of their culinary prowess.) Of course you will get to sample some of the results, along with a complimentary cocktail. Each competitor has selected a charity, and the winner will determine which worthy cause all of the proceeds from this event go to. Click on the event link to see a list of the battling chefs, the establishments they represent, and their choice of charity. Local smoked meat maven, Zane Caplansky, hosts the event. ART | You Cannot Kill What Is Already Dead
The Doris McCarthy Gallery presents a new exhibition of ghoulish works in various media: You Cannot Kill What Is Already Dead. This collection of new works that focus on "the apocalyptic and the undead", examines the current fascination for "zombies" in popular culture, and explores the possibilities that this could be a manifestation of various "anxieties" in society at large. Tonight is the opening reception with a curator's talk. The exhibition runs until January 25th, 2014. Doris McCarthy Gallery, University of Toronto Scarborough (1265 Military Trail) 5PM

MUSIC | Anchor Shop Proudly Presents: Die Mannequin @ Horseshoe Tavern
The Anchor Shop brings you a heavy lineup for their Devil's Night shindig at The Horseshoe. TO neo-punk rock outfit Die Mannequin headlines this show, a band who has shared the stage with a number of notable acts, from Guns 'n' Roses to Sum 41 and Marilyn Manson. They were also involved in director Bruce McDonald's Hard Core Logo 2. Also on tonight's bill are Hamilton rockers 40 Sons, and City & Sea, plus Crow Town, a relatively recently-formed "guitar and drum duo" from TO. Horseshoe Tavern (370 Queen Street West) 8:30PM $15

FILM | Rue Morgue & Unstable Ground present Little Terrors - Vol. 21 - Devil's Night
Tonight's installment of Little Terrors is dubbed Devil's Night, and it falls at the most ideal time period of the year for an evening of horrifying short films. This event isn't named Little Terrors for nothing: Rue Morgue and Unstable Ground bring you two solid hours of the scariest, goriest short films going. Tonight's screening will include films by directors Paul Davis, Bryan Norton, Joe Nicolosi, Patrick Rea, Daniel Thorn, Patricia Chica, and others. Carlton Cinema (20 Carlton Street) 9PM
