MUSIC | Electric Christmas 3: Free The Children Benefit
Good music feels good, but good music for a good cause feels even better! The Electric Christmas (Freak-Out) is a festive annual show that comes together to put great music to great use: helping those in need. This year's charitable focus is Free The Children, an charitable organization with the mandate of freeing children from exploitation in third world countries and around the world. Wordburglar, Melissa Azore, MC Sean Ward, and several others will be providing the music, so come out and do your first good deed of the Holiday season.

BOOKS & LIT | "Art School: Dismissed" Book Launch
Heather Nicol launches her new book, "Art School {Dismissed}" tonight at No One Writes To The Colonel. This book was inspired by the 'decommissioning' of Shaw Street Public School in 2000, after 86 years of faithful service, and a large exhibition that took place there in 2010. Her book includes words from Murray Whyte, Ian Carr-Harris, Yvonne Lammerich, and Jessica Valentin. There will be hors d'oeuvres and soup served, and the author will be in attendance. Better bring a note if you arrive late for this one.

LECTURE | Marc Chagall: A Life in Dreams
David Wistow from the Art Gallery Of Ontario will be at the Locke Library this evening to deliver a lecture on Marc Chagall, as part of the library's "Thought Exchange" series. Chagall was a Russian-born artist who worked in an unusually wide variety of media over the course of his career, from stained-glass to tapestries, and of course, fine art prints. Wistow will be looking specifically at the imaginative, whimsical nature of many of the artist's works, and the way in which Chagall's surroundings influenced his art.

MUSIC | Wildlife + Chamberlin + Topanga
A triple bill at The Garrison tonight! The sonically adventurous Wildlife are tonight's headliners, and will share some of their powerful, grit-laden, poppy tunes. Also on the bill is Vermont's Chamberlin, and their folky, and latently funky sound has plenty of harmonies, acoustic guitar, and atmosphere. Topanga will also take the stage tonight, and add some 'party snarl' to the festivities with their energetic vibe. Be sure to get there early to catch openers, The Dirty Nil. Should be an interesting show!
