FILM | Raindance Presents "Music from the Big House"
Director Bruce McDonald is back with another great music doc! Rita Chiarelli is the subject of this new film, and it follows her quest to capture and connect with the sounds of the musical inmates at the Angola Prison in Louisiana. Rumour has it that this is where some of the purest, baddest Blues is on the planet. These inmates will likely never get out of prison again in their lifetime, but the music has given them hope, and helped them to survive, and evolve as people. There will be a Q & A following the film with the film's producers Erin Faith Young and Jennifer St. John, a performance by Rita Chiarelli, and an 'industry' schmoozefest following the screening.
The Projection Booth (1035 Gerrard Street) 7PM $20

ART | Cities In Mind
An interesting exhibit opens this evening at Artscape Triangle Gallery: "Cities In Mind." Three artists have come together to display works that illustrate the "human connection" present in cities. Wieslaw Michalak, Don Snyder, and Andrew Williamson have submitted substantial works to this exploration of urban landscapes. The work of three artists is truly complementary: Michalak takes a topographical approach to presenting the urban landscape, while Snyder focuses on the "nature interrupted" between and beneath a city's structures and constructions, and finally, Williamson uses the quasi-randomness of computer image manipulation to simulate the sporadic growth and flux of these urban centres. The exhibit runs until December 5th.

MUSIC | TWM: Wild Domestic, Youth Season, Glory Glory at Rancho
A very cool triple bill at Rancho tonight! The evening begins with Halifax's Glory Glory, and their dark, atmospheric, and hypnotic sound will haunt you for days! The raw local talent of Youth Season fills the middle slot. These guys formed earlier this year, and it's great to see them slugging it out on this bill. The closing act is London's Wild Domestic, who aren't afraid to go back to music's golden age, where progressive greats put out seven minute tunes, exploring musical possibilities while still rocking out!
Rancho Relaxo (300 College Street) 9PM $5

MUSIC | Audio Blood presents... Ben Caplan's CD Release Party with Darren Eedens
Local PR gurus Audio Blood Media have put together a cool CD release show tonight! Ben Caplan, described as a "long bearded troubadour" extraordinaire is launching his new album, "In the Time of the Great Remembering" this evening, and there are some awesome supporting guests. Also on the bill is Darren Eedens, whose uppity folk stylings will perk you up, and Revelstoke and Gabrielle Papillon will also play sets for your musical pleasure.
The Supermarket (268 Augusta Avenue) 7:30PM pwyc
