Radar: Primus, Coach House Toronto Fall 2011 Launch, Get Contemporary, Ladytron with VHS on Beta

MUSIC | Primus @ Massey Hall
For those with that special, slightly twisted musical taste - and there are many out there fitting this description - you'll be heading to Massey Hall tonight for Primus! This group, led by bassist Les Claypool has been at it in some form or another since 1984, and rose to greatness before going on hiatus in 2000 for a few years. They are currently touring in support of the album "Green Naugahyde", their first proper studio album in over ten years. Rumour has it that there will be no opener tonight - just pure, unadulterated Primus.
Massey Hall (178 Victoria Street) 7:30PM $47.50 - $55

BOOKS & LIT | Coach House Toronto Fall 2011 Launch
This is a book launch that promises to be a party! Coach House press launches 6 new titles tonight: Sina Queyra's novel, "Autobiography of Childhood", Tristan Hughes' "Eye Lake", Rob Benvie's "Maintenance", David McGimspey's collection of poetry, "Li'l Bastard", and Leigh Kotsilidis and Jenny Sampirisi will both read from their latest collections of poetry. That's more lit in one spot than one could ever hope for! The best part is that this will take place in the Dance Cave, a vibe laden TO venue with some history, and there will be a "mini photo booth"! Alana Wilcox will host this affair.
The Dance Cave (529 Bloor Street West Upper Level) 8PM

ART | Launch Party: Get Contemporary
Come and celebrate the launch of a new advertising campaign to raise awareness for the Museum of Contemporary Canadian Art. Dancing, drinks, and music from DJ Ninja Boutonnière will make it worth your while. There will also be a display of works by Cossette with Mark Zibert. Come out and show your support for Canadian culture.
The Hoxton (69 Bathurst Street) 6PM FREE

MUSIC | PWYC Weds w/ Strange Robotix, Echowide, My Friends Big Heads
Another happening lineup at Rancho tonight! Tonight's headliner is a 'concept band': Strange Robotix, a project that exists in the year 2375 where a strange new race has emerged. This is a unique instrumental project with a theatrical approach! Some heavy sound will be going down with the other two acts on the bill: My Friends With Big Heads, and Echowide. You can always count on PWYC Wednsdays at Rancho for strong lineups featuring up and coming talent!
Rancho Relaxo (300 College Street) 9PM PWYC
