Radar: Bun B, 10,000 Tastes, Atmosphere, Roadsworth film screening, Fallunangels, The Soupcans Tape Release

MUSIC | Bun B at the Sound Academy
Bun B hits the Sound Academy tonight! This dude is part of a distinguished lineage of Houston, Texas rappers, along with the likes of Chamillionaire, Willie D, and Scarface. Bun B's career began as one half of UGK (Underground Kingz), a Texas hip hop duo that began in the late '80s, and had some releases that saw some chart action. His release last year, "Trill OG" received very favourable nods from the hip hop world, including Source Magazine's highest rating. Did you know Bun B was also recently made an official guest lecturer at Rice University? If you show up at the Sound Academy tonight, he'll school you in how hip hop is done by those with years of experience. Jack Flawless, Ashton Martin, and LP Forsythe are tonight's openers.
Sound Academy (11 Polson Street) 8PM $24.95

FILM | Free Favourites at Four presents Roadsworth: Crossing the Line
Alan Kohl's 2009 documentary follows a man named Roadsworth (a.k.a. Peter Gibson), a Montreal graffiti artist who specializes in transforming (literally) the street itself. This is a film that examines not only the impact of art within the confines of the urban landscape, but also the laws surrounding "graffiti," and the implications this holds for freedom of expression.
NFB Mediatheque (150 John Street) 4PM FREE

CULTURE | 10, 000 Tastes
10,000 Tastes is a free event taking place at Yonge-Dundas Square this afternoon. This is a vegan-oriented event, but all are welcome, especially those who are curious about this lifestyle. Gene Baur is the event host, and he is an animal activist, and President/Co-Founder of Farm Sanctuary, an organization devoted to animal protection and rescue, acting on behalf of farm animals. There will be plenty of vegan delicacies to sample, musical guests, celebrity appearances, and a veggie dog giveaway!
Yonge-Dundas Square 12PM FREE

MUSIC | Atmosphere 'Family Vacation Tour'
Atmosphere, the hip hop project from Minneapolis, is based around the core duo of rapper, Slug, and DJ/Producer, Ant. These guys have been at it for quite a while, and have a live show that delivers. Their new platter, "The Family Sign" dropped in April, and has been doing quite nicely. They will be laying it down at The Phoenix tonight with guests-a-plenty: Evidence, Blueprint, DJ Babu, and Prof will be in the house.
Phoenix Concert Theatre (410 Sherbourne Street) 8PM $23.50
