Radar: Rock n' Rouge Pop-up Shop, Ratatat, This Place, The Future of Media

FASHION | Rock n' Rouge Vintage Pop-up Shop
I would think drinking and shopping is a bad combination -- in much the same way that you don't grocery shop when you're hungry. Rock n' Rouge, a men's vintage pop-up shop is having their launch party tonight. Lost+found and Stacked Vintage Accessories Boutique are teaming up and selecting the best and most unique pieces for this shop, located in the Hotshot Gallery Cafe. It will be open for public shopping from the 9th to the 11th, but if you want to attend the launch party, you'll have to RSVP to rockandrougeshop@gmail.com. Get your wallets ready!
Hotshot Gallery Cafe, 181 Augusta Ave, Free, 8-11pm

MUSIC | Ratatat
New York City duo Ratatat are bringing their unique brand of electro jams to the Sound Academy tonight. The band released their fourth full-length studio album, LP4, this summer along with the unbelievably creepy video for Drugs. Massachusetts based electro-pop buzzband Dom open, who you'll definitely not want to miss.
Sound Academy. 11 Polson St, $20, 8pm

ART | This Place
Some people like Canada and are happy they were born here, and some people LOVE Canada. Kurt Rostek falls into the latter category. He has done a series of paintings swooning over Canadian rural and urban landscapes. Have you ever driven across the 401? Probably one of the most boring rides ever. I don't think I remember the words to the national anthem anymore... I guess I better go to a Blue Jays game.
Gallery 1313, 1313 Queen St W, Free, 7-10pm

DISCUSSION | The Future of Media
A-list media executives will be discussing topics like how social media has affected journalism, and how media outlets have adjusted to the web -- stuff that doesn't really occur to most people, but is ever growing. Make sure to bring your laptops and newspapers to have these media superstars sign. There's also a few amazing prizes to be given away, one of them being an iPad. Now you can be that guy on the subway playing Angry Birds that everyone hates!
Drake Hotel, 1150 Queen St. W, Free, 7pm
