Events on Toronto's Radar for WEDNESDAY DECEMBER 23, 2009... lovingly handpicked from blogTO's events calendar.

FUNDRAISER | Kardinal Offishall Christmas Charity Gala
Hip hop superstar and local boy made good Kardinal Offishall gives something back tonight with a charity show to benefit the Canadian Breast Cancer Society. This is the 12th straight year Kardinal has held the gala, ensuring himself a solid spot on Santa's nice list for years to come. Lots of Kardinal's celebrity friends will also be hitting the stage, including Divine Brown, Jully Black, and Saurkates. Hosted by Russell Peters.
This Is London, 364 Richmond St. W., $25 advance, $35 door, 9 pm

PARTY | Joy to the World at Lobby
Celebrate the holidays in style with this fashion party at the swanky Bloor St. club Lobby. Toronto dressmakers Joy Couture will present a Christmas-themed fashion show and DJ Undercover will provide the soundtrack. Dress sharp cause there'll be some fashion photographers documenting the evening. And also they won't let you in unless you're dressed to the nines.
Lobby Restaurant and Lounge, 192 Bloor St. W., 9 pm

PARTY | urHoliday Mashup
Nothing says Christmas like cows humping. The Bovine Sex Club will be packed tonight with folks making merry to the sounds of the Ur Artist Network's Magneta Lane, Peter Katz, the Barettas, the Organ Thieves, and about a dozen other artists. There are so many performers I'm actually not sure how they'll find time to fit them all in, in fact. DJ Darrin Pfeiffer will be spinning the tunes in the back room and a donation to the Daily Bread Food Bank gets you in free.
The Bovine Sex Club, 542 Queen St. W., 7 pm

MUSIC | Gifted State of Mind
Local hip hop talent converges on the back room of the Rivoli tonight for one last dope blow out before Christmas. Juno Award and Polaris Prize nominee D-Sisive headlines a bill that includes Fundament, Goose Bumps Click, and Chris Coates. The tastily-named DJ Sauce will hold down the beat between sets, and a donation to the St. Vincent-De Paul Food Bank will get you in for the low low cover price of $4.
The Rivoli, 334 Queen St. W., $4 with donation to the Food Bank, 9 pm

Although this is a very, very worthy cause...Kardie and Jully Black are the two biggest spotlight whores this city has to offer. There is nothing those two wont shill to make a buck. When an event is hard pressed to have a "celebrity" attend, call on Kardi & Jully they'll do it simply for free pretzels.
They have the credibility of a Catholic priest.

Toronto rap/r&b artists probably have to do that just to make a living.
