Back again, with a summary of today's selected events. Happy Tuesday, all.

Repo! The Genetic Opera
If you didn't catch the crazy line-ups for Repo! in November, then here's your chance to jump on the cult bandwagon. If the opera song titles don't get you ("Happiness is Not a Warm Scalpel" and "Who Ordered Pizza?"), then maybe the blood, gore, or Paris Hilton might. Tonight only, discounts are available for cash-strapped U of T students and their friends with fake student cards. That's hot.
Bloor Cinema. 506 Bloor Street W, (416) 516-2331.
FILM / 9pm / $6 members, $9 non-members, $4 U of T students / website

The SketchCOMedy Lounge
This week's SketchCOM brings together an epic variety program, featuring Showgame, an interactive game show with audience bribery at the forefront (er, I mean, cash and prizes). Also on offer: Eric Toth n' Dave Brennan from the ingenious Imponderables and Ron Sparks' Newsdesk of Weekend-Update-esque ha-has.
Rivoli. 334 Queen Street W, 416-596-1908.
COMEDY / 9pm / pwyc / website

Them & Us: Preview
Second City alumnus (it's like a comedy PhD -- must be mentioned) Tracy Dawson debuts her first full-length show on dysfunctional relationships, steering a four-member cast through short vignettes and a flurry of heartbroken and to-be-heartbroken characters. Gasp. How is there any possible way we could relate? Previews tonight and tomorrow. Runs to January 31.
Theatre Passe Muraille. 16 Ryerson Avenue, (416) 504-7529.
STAGE / 8pm / $15-35 / website

East of Berlin: Preview
Back after a popular run in 2007, this show delves into the relationships of a German ex-pat in Paraguay who discovers his father had a role in the Holocaust. A previous blogTO review touts this as a must-see show. Previews tonight. Runs from January 7 to February 1.
Tarragon Extra Space. 30 Bridgman Avenue, (416) 531-1827.
STAGE / 8pm / $35-40 / website

The Bidini Band at Cameron House
Miss the Rheostatics? David Bidini can at least remind you of that time for a couple of hours, with his new musical outfit, The Bidini Band. It's an early show, too, which throws that "I gotta work tomorrow" excuse out the window.
The Cameron House. 408 Queen Street W, (416) 703-0811.
MUSIC / 7pm / pwyc / website

Tyler Yarema & His Rhythm at Reservoir Lounge
Shine those shoes and kick back as local jazz institution Tyler Yarema tickles the ivories, while you tickle a martini glass or two.
Reservoir Lounge. Lower level, 52 Wellington Street E, 416-955-0887.
MUSIC / 930pm / website

(In regards to Repo, which I was super-pumped about this morning, as per my earlier comment):

Do you know where I am right now? At home. It's still playing; me and my girlfriend actually walked out of this movie.

I Love the Bloor Cinema, but if this were anywhere else, I would have definitely asked for my money back.

Seriously. I can see what they were 'going for', but it was like a caricature of a caricature of a parody of a poor man's Rocky Horror.

I want to Repo the friggin' 30 minutes I DID waste this evening.
Of course, this is just one man's opinion.

The SketchCOMedy Lounge was amazing! So much fun. I got selected for the Showgame which was mortifying but I would recommend it for anyone. Can't go wrong with entertainment for $5!

jonathan: well, good to know. it's interesting how the bloor gets you -- the same thing there is at least slightly forgivable. sorry you had to play the martyr.

krystyn: SketchCOM is awesome in so many ways. i tend to sit way in the back to avoid attention!
