About the Spirit of Yorkville Music Festival

Planned for September 19th to 21st, 2014 throughout Yorkville and its surrounding areas, the festival will draw people from all over Canada, U.S.A, and abroad to recapture the spirit and unique artistry of Yorkville in the 60's. The event will feature an abundance of performances from famous musical artists from the 60's including Edward Bear, Luke and the Apostles, Ken Whiteley, Keith McKie, Robbie Lane and Juno award winner Cathy Young. As these performers continue to age, it is certain an event of this magnitude will never happen again.

About the Yorkville Village Alumni Association

The Yorkville Village Alumni Association consists of a group of individuals who lived through the experience of Yorkville in the 60s and is chaired by David DePoe, formerly the spokesperson for the “Hippies” of Yorkville. The association was formed to celebrate the spirit of peace, love, and understanding and the wonderful music, art and poetry that existed in Yorkville in the 1960’s. We honour an amazingly creative era that launched many legendary music and artistic icons. We recognize the need to keep the vital Spirit of Yorkville alive as an important part of Toronto’s history and culture, always remembered and celebrated.
