Private Commute: Artist Talk at The Theatre Centre
Join us for a conversation about Private Commute: a collaboration at the intersection of performance and photography.
One day in January, Erin and John each made a photographic diptych of their daily commutes in Toronto and Hamilton. They gave these diptychs to 20 people, encountered on their daily traplines, and asked that the recipients, 10 in Toronto and 10 in Hamilton, display them in their homes. These were people they knew in public life, but whose private homes they had never visited. Several weeks later, they returned to document the diptychs in situ, in the contexts in which their new owners had displayed and lived with them, through a series of large-format photographs
