MOCKTALES // Rock Bottom Movement

Join Rock Bottom Movement for their latest mixed program, MOCKTALES, a collection of mockeries and celebrations. We'll bring back audience favourites, "The Mouse Hunting Diaries" and "burst" as well as 3 brand new WORKS. Held in an intimate studio space in the east end of Toronto, this program is a one-weekend-only workshop showing and your chance to get up close and personal with the work of Rock Bottom Movement.

Choreographed by Alyssa Martin and featuring 5 of Toronto's most eccentric young female dance and theatre artists, Mary-Dora Bloch-Hansen, Julia Cosentino, Samantha Grist, Taylor Hunt and Alanna Bale, MOCKTALES will stay true to Rock Bottom's signature absurdist approach in reaching out to dance enthusiasts and newcomers alike.

A little about Rock Bottom:

Founded in 2012 by choreographer Alyssa Martin, Rock Bottom Movement is a Toronto-based company dedicated to the creation and presentation of inventive original dance work. The company prides itself in celebrating the individual and the imagination in all its glories and all its flaws, especially the latter. Alyssa's work with Rock Bottom Movement has been featured in many festivals, exhibitions, installations and events. The company has busked all over the downtown core of Toronto and have presented and toured multiple self produced full length works. Rock Bottom Movement's work has been hailed as vivacious, hilarious, psychedelic, innovative, playful and clever. In addition to performing, RBM inspires local youth [the next generation of MOVER and shakers] through creative workshops. A growing company, Rock Bottom Movement hopes to break the boundaries between dance and theatre, inspiring audiences ages 3 to 103 to start dancing in their kitchens.
