More details:

Luminato Festival has commissioned two new works from Beijing-born, Canadian-raised artist Terence Koh, to be installed on the elegant grounds of the McMichael Canadian Art Collection in Kleinburg. The works, tomorrow’s snow and a way to the light, represent Koh’s first solo showing in Canada since his student days, which mark the beginning of a new phase for the multidisciplinary artist.

Inspired by a passage from Margaret Atwood’s novel, Cat’s Eye, tomorrow’s snow is a performance taking place outdoors at night that will recreate the look of freshly fallen snow, with an 8-year-old boy and girl, dressed in all white, making snow angels in the field.

A way to the light is a tribute to Canadian artist and writer Emily Carr, and is a new installation that will take place at the McMichael Artists’ Cemetery.

Tomorrow’s talks will be hosted each night before the performances by a wide variety of artists covering aspects of snow, the Arctic, environment, storytelling, Inuit culture, music and more.

The McMichael Canadian Art Collection will host extended hours until 9PM. The main building and its related patios are fully licensed, operating from 6:30PM to 9:00PM each night. A special picnic, curated by Terence Koh, can be ordered in advance online.
