#CanadaCares Family Day and Concert

Save the Children, along with the Canadian Network for Maternal, Newborn and Child Health, are celebrating Canada’s leadership in saving the lives of millions of mothers, newborns and children around the world. Visitors are invited to join the #CanadaCares Family Day at Yonge and Dundas Square to see how Canadian organizations are working to end preventable deaths in women and children and to show they care through an interactive Twitter wall with the #CanadaCares hashtag.

The family-friendly environment will include a supervised play area, activities and splash fountain for children, safe and comfortable area for nursing moms, and a place to bring a picnic. Attendees are also invited to take part in knitting a vibrant ‘Blanket of Hope,’ to show their solidarity with moms and newborns struggling to survive. This blanket will be sewn together with blankets from other countries into a global Blanket of Hope.

Following the day’s events, award-winning singer songwriter, Serena Ryder, will perform with Canada’s Queen of R&B;, Jully Black, as the opening act.

Admission is free.
