2014 AstroTour Keynote - Mysteries of the Dark Universe

The AstroTours Keynote is an annual event hosted by the graduate students of the Department of Astronomy & Astrophysics at the University of Toronto. The Keynote features an hour-long public lecture presented by a world-renowned astronomer and public speaker, alongside telescope observations, planetarium shows, and an ask-an-astronomer reception. This year, we're pleased to present Edward W. “Rocky” Kolb, who will talk about dark matter and dark energy, mysterious substances that together make up 95% of the entire universe.

The event will begin at 6:30 PM with a combination of planetarium shows and solar observing. Rocky's talk will be at 8:00 PM, and will end at 9:30 PM, at which point planetarium shows will resume, and night sky observing will begin.

The event is FREE, and all activities other than the planetarium shows are walk-in and don't require registration. Registration for the planetarium shows will begin on June 7th, and the sign-up will be found on our website.

For more information, please see our website. We welcome all with a passion for astronomy to attend!
