I headed down to Remy's on Yorkville for the 2nd meeting of the Toronto Desi Club. It's basically a meeting place for South Asian's between the ages of 20 and 30. Despite being a new group, it's very organized, has many events planned and great potential thanks to dedicated organizer Denny Kurien. I had a chance to chat Denny about the club.

re: DISCOUNTED TICKETS FOR DISNEY ON ICE EVENT AT ROGERS CENTRE

Dear Organization Leaders,

On behalf of AV Communications who is marketing the Disney on Ice Disneyland Adventures for the SOuth ASian Community in Toronto, we would like to offer your organization a discount on these tickets. For corporate/ organization sales, please feel free to call me or email me back.

TORONTO, ON, October 23/08 ? Relive favourite Disneyland? memories when Disney/Pixar's The Incredibles meet Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse and other beloved Disney characters and experience famed Disneyland attractions like the Haunted Mansion, "it's a small world" and Pirates of the Caribbean in the Disney On Ice spectacular, a Disneyland Adventure.

Produced by Feld Entertainment, this one-of-a-kind, action-packed production visits Toronto this holiday season from December 19-28/08 for 16 performances at Rogers Centre. Tickets go on sale Saturday, October 25/08 at 10 a.m.

As the park gates open, Disney characters fill the arena with excitement. Audiences swing with Baloo through the Jungle Cruise, fly like a space ranger through Space Mountain? with Buzz Lightyear and accompany Snow White and Cinderella during the Main Street USA? parade. And just when things get a little too crazy, audiences help everyone's favourite super family--The Incredibles--save the day. And here's great news! You can get $3.00 discount on every ticket that you buy when you enter the promo code: ALCAV. Tickets range from $12.00( after discounts) to $35( after discounts)

Canadians for Global Care is a grassroots charitable organisation born out of our shared culture of volunteering, generosity and willingness to help. Our main focus is healthcare and literacy initiatives both in Canada and developing nations.

CGC is a registered Canadian charitable organization (#327098) that has been carrying out humanitarian projects since 2009. CGC provides assistance to communities who are struggling against the underlying causes of protracted poverty. Our projects are particularly significant: they are implemented by local partners and therefore are culturally sensitive, provide targeted need, and the possibility for long-term sustainability. CGC is sustained by the generosity of Canadian men and women from varied backgrounds, including professionals, business people, and academics.

(Please visit our website at www.canadiansforglobalcare.com for more information about our efforts at home and around the world.)

On the morning of October 8th, 2005 a catastrophic earthquake measuring 7.6 on the Richter scale struck the unsuspecting people of Northern Pakistan. For six terrifying and agonizing minutes the earth shook and when it stopped, over 87,000 people had lost their lives, tens of thousands were severely injured and over three million were made homeless.

One week after the earthquake a team from Nottingham and Derby in the UK flew into Northern Pakistan. The team worked in a field hospital consisting mainly of tents. Over one thousand patients were treated in the five and a half days they were there. The Midland Doctors association UK (MDAUK) was formed to construct and maintain a charitable hospital to serve those affected by the earthquake, and generations to follow.

CGC has already raised $45,000 in support of this project. Construction has begun, with completion scheduled for Dec 2011.

Be a part of this success story, help raise $100,000.
