Ugh. It's a nice shot but not anything like the hyperbolic tweet advertised. I love experimental photography and using filters but as the artist says she "played around with the processing in Color Efex Pro" and it looks like she scrubbed out all the noise and pumped up the detail making the buildings look painted. I would suggest for the photographer to try a little less post-processing as the sky is great and the composition is good with the skyline being a little less familiar than the typical toronto waterfront shots. Good, but could be better.

Ya you're right she did play around with some digital tools... so what's your point? It's not having the tools that matters, it's knowing their potential and knowing how to use them. It's not the camera or the paints that make the artist.

every other day it's skyline photos. Toronto is such a diverse city, with lots happening on the streets in different neighbourhoods... and all we get are more of the same shots.

Beautiful shot by an incredibly talented photographer. The whole point of having digital tools at our disposal is to further our ability to create something that truly resonates with the artist. I love the way the buildings look painted. The piece as a whole is aesthetically-pleasing, so whatever she did to it did the job. Todd, to each her own. Don't forget that photography is both an art and a science so maybe you need to embrace the artistic aspect because it sounds like you're a bit focussed on the technical here (something that will limit you if you are a photographer yourself). For you to say "good, but could be better" is inane. Submit your own photographs if you think you're such an authority... Good luck. Once again, excellent work Sandra!

Very impressive shot. But shutting down criticism so bluntly does not help the conversation or the artist. Anything could be better, and that is not crazy. To each their own still stands.

...and the arbiter of "better" would be? Great photo, Sandra. I'd be happy to own it.
