The Blogerati Files - chromewaves.net

This week in the Blogerati Files - Frank Yang's "chromewaves.net"

Describe your blog in 10 words or less.
Stone cold playa hatin' indie rockin' pop culture uber geek

Why did you start your blog? Blogiversary?
It seemed more socially acceptable than talking to myself out loud. I've been rocking the mic since September 2, 2002.

Has blogging changed you or enhanced a personality trait?
I'm still the same socially dysfunctional misanthrope I always was, though the habit of daily posting (haven't missed a day since January 27, 2004) has exacerbated my obsessive-compulsive disorder to the point that I am now self-medicating with Tic-Tacs, Jack Daniels and Tang..

Do you have a favourite post from your blog?
I tend to forget them as soon as I post them. But my breakup with Radiohead remains a fond one, as was my review of Wilco's show at the Mod Club in August 2004 and my SxSW reportage from Austin, Texas this past March.

Who are your fav blogger(s)?
A day without Largehearted Boy is like a day without sunshine. And reading the blogs of local journos Carl Wilson from the Globe & Mail and Aaron Wherry from the National Post always remind me why they get paid to write about music and I don't.

Best blogger hangout in TO?
I hang out at the Horseshoe and Lee's Palace a lot. At least when I'm not at the secret GTAblogger treehouse fort, AKA the Hall Of Justice.

Ever met a stranger who already knew you through your blog? How was that?
It happens all the time at shows, actually.

Anonymous person - "Hey, are you Frank from Chromewaves?"
Me - "Yeah"
Anonymous person - "Oh. I thought you'd be taller."

What's happening in Toronto right now that the rest of us should be watching?
Everyone should go to the Ear To The Ground Festival at Exhibition Place September 17 to 19 because it's going to rule the school and because I won't be able to go.

Choose someone, living or dead, to write your biography.
Chuck Klosterman. Because within 10 words he'd be writing about himself and I don't doubt that it'd be more interesting than reading about me.
