Victoria Day fireworks in Toronto 2012

Posted by Alexandra Grigorescu / May 17, 2012

Where to watch Victoria Day fireworks in Toronto 2012:

For those not overly eager to risk setting off their own fireworks, there are two places in the GTA to witness some fireworks this weekend.

In Toronto proper, Ashbridges Bay Park hosts the only (confirmed) Toronto fireworks display to light up the sky on the holiday Monday, and this year's show will be a 14-minute whopper, rain or shine. The crowd promises to be immense, with 80,000 people expected for the 9:45 p.m. show.

Canada's Wonderland routinely puts on a good show, and this year's fireworks display will take place on Sunday, May 20 at 10 p.m. You can opt for a day pass at the gate for the steep cost of $56.99 — if you'd like to be close-up for the 15-20 minute fireworks display, and/or properly nauseated after a long day of loops and dives — but many choose to enjoy the show from outside the proper confines of the park.

Prince Charles and Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, will be at Ashbridges Bay for the fireworks show this year. Not certain if they'll be on a boat or on land, though.

Your starting time for Ashbridge's park fireworks was wrong - they actually started at 9.30pm

Next time, I'll check the official City of Toronto website...

I was really sad that ontario place didn't have their usual victoria day fireworks. It was such a great tradition to go with family and friends :(

Doesn't matter where you checked the fireworks were scheduled to go off at 9:45 but they started them early (from what I heard, because the 'Royals' were there early). Very disappointed family, long walk for NOTHING!!

I can't believe you got the time WRONG!!!
I rode an hour on my bike with two knew riders and they never want to ride in the city again!

Thanks for ruining everything!

GUYS before you blame blogto, remember that the fireworks were scheduled to start at 9:45 and have ALWAYS started at 9:45. they were probably only early because the royal family was tired...
