Public swimming pools open late during the heatwave

A number of Toronto's outdoor swimming pools are open late during the heatwave to help residents cool off. And they're less packed than you might think (at least by my experience at Gus Ryder last night)! The late night swim should be a Toronto ritual when the mercury pushes past 30C.

The following pools are open until 11:45 p.m. tonight:

  • Alex Duff (Christie Pits), 779 Crawford St (416 392-0910)
  • Alexandra Park, 275 Bathurst St (416 392-7686)
  • Giovani Caboto, 1369 St. Clair Ave W (416 392-7762)
  • McGergor Park, 2231 Lawrence Ave E (416 396-7769)
  • Monarch Park, 115 Felstead Ave (416 392-7831)
  • Regent Park, 620 Dundas St E (416 392-7832)
  • Smithfield, 175 Mount Olive Dr (416 394-8495)
  • Sunnyside / Gus Ryder, 1755 Lake Shore Blvd W (416 392-7929)
  • Cummer Park, 6000 Leslie St (416 395-7803)
