New installation to be unveiled at Toronto Sculpture Garden

A new installation called "Primary Prototypes" will be on display at the Toronto Sculpture Garden starting October 6.

The work, by Montreal artist Randall Anderson, consists of three primary-coloured sculptural elements, each positioned on a white trailer. One or more of the trailers will be temporarily removed at least once a month, hooked up to a white car and driven around the city, and parked on the street at an art event. The idea, according to Anderson, is to question "how we relate to the notion of the transitional as a finished state of being."

The official opening will take place at the Toronto Sculpture Garden on October 6 from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. The installation will be on display until April 15, 2011.
