Ford challenges Vaughan to enter mayoral race

On the John Oakley show on AM640 today, mayoral candidate Rob Ford called on councillor Adam Vaughan to "be a man" and enter the race. The statement may or may not have been followed by Ford pounding his chest and making grunting noises.

"I want Adam Vaughan. That's one I want," Ford said. "He spends all his time criticizing me, so put your money where your mouth is. I want Adam Vaughan in the race."

Ford made the statement in response to rumours that Vaughan, or even Mayor Miller, may step up to replace Joe Pantalone as the left-wing candidate in the race. Potential candidates have until September 12 to enter the race.

"I am sick and tired of him heckling me when I get up to speak at council," Ford said, adding he would "chew him (Vaughan) up and spit him out" in a one-on-one mayoral debate.

Of course, they could always just crush beer cans on their foreheads and fist pump. Same effect.
