Trillium Book Awards winners announced

The winners of the Trillium Book Awards were announced today with journalist Ian Brown taking home the top English prize for The Boy in the Moon.

The Boy in the Moon is a fantastic memoir about Brown's severely handicapped son Walker. It has already won the $40,000 B.C. National Award for Canadian Non-Fiction and the $25,000 Charles Taylor Prize for Literary Non-Fiction. Brown beat out venerable names such as Alice Munro and Margaret Atwood for the top prize.

The French award went to Ryad Assani-Razaki for Deux Cercles. The English poetry award went to Karen Solie for Pigeon, and the French poetry award to Michèle Matteau for Passerelles.

The full list of Trillium nominees is available on their website.
