Bedouin Soundclash

Hot Ticket: Metz & No Joy basement show, Dolorean, Bedouin Soundclash homecoming, The Wilderness album release show, Jay Brannan, & KT Tunstall

Live music picks for WEDNESDAY NOVEMBER 17 through TUESDAY NOVEMBER 23, 2010.

WEDNESDAY NOVEMBER 17 / METZ & NO JOY / PARTS & LABOUR / 1566 QUEEN ST W / $10 / 19+
The Shop under Parts & Labour will host local post-punk rockers, Metz, as well as Montreal duo, No Joy, tonight. No Joy are set to release a fantastic new LP entitled Ghost Blonde. Also, opening up the evening will be Rituals.

THURSDAY NOVEMBER 18 / DELOREAN / MOD CLUB / 722 COLLEGE ST / $15 / ALL AGES
Hailing all the way from Spain, Dolorean takes over the Mod Club on Thursday with their danceable disco rock in support of their new record Subiza. Lemonade, the San Francisco-based psych-electronic trio, have been on tour with Delorean and I've been hearing good things about their live show.

FRIDAY NOVEMBER 19 / BEDOUIN SOUNDCLASH / SOUND ACADEMY / 11 POLSON ST / $25 / ALL AGES
The Sound Academy welcomes home Bedouin Soundclash on Friday night, offering the Kingston, ON-natives a chance to sleep in their own beds before continuing their tour for Light the Horizon. I'm a big fan of Bedouin, and their Island-inspired tunes may be just what the doctor ordered before the winter months set-in.

SATURDAY NOVEMBER 20 / WILDERNESS / HORSESHOE TAVERN / 368 QUEEN ST W / $6 / 19+
The Wilderness celebrate the release of their new album, .272, on Saturday at the legendary Horseshoe Tavern. The experimental rockers draw obvious comparisons to Joy Division and Talking Heads, but heir live show is definitely unique and a sight to see. Supporting the nights celebration will be Krupke, Polynesian Bride, and the Cautioneers.

SUNDAY NOVEMBER 21 / JAY BRANNAN / LEE'S PALACE / 529 BLOOR ST W / $15 / 19+
Actor and singer-songwriter, Jay Brannan, stops by Lee's Palace to perform on Sunday. Brannan, who is still touring his 2009 release In Living Cover. looks to continue his success from his humble beginnings on YouTube.

TUESDAY NOVEMBER 23 / KT TUNSTALL / PHOENIX / 410 SHERBOURNE ST / $20.50 / 19+
Scottish singer-songwriter, KT Tunstall hits the Phoenix on Tuesday, bringing her incredibly successful album Tiger Suit to the venue and hoping to translate the more contemporary ingredients to the live setting.
