This week I feature two official videos from Toronto's eclectic electronic-rock scene: first, Holy Fuck give us "Red Lights", a video animal lovers will be sure to adore, and second, Diamond Rings "Something Else" is about as straight forward as it gets, but a catchy song and a Bowie-inspired John O'Regan maintain your attention throughout. Then we have a Southern Souls session with Baby Eagle, followed by a great interview via andPOP with JFK (Jesse F. Keeler) of MSTRKRFT. Finally, in our brand new "Toronto Live" section of this post, I feature the recent performances of Los Campesinos!, who tore the house down at Wrongbar on October 8, and Belle and Sebastian, who "charmed the crowd" at Massey Hall on October 12.

Jim Bryson & the Weakerthans - "Wild Folk"
Jim Bryson's new album The Falcon Lake Incident is a collaborative effort with the Weakerthans and is set for release on October 19. In celebration, he's offering, via Exclaim!, a free download of his track "Wild Heart". Also, be sure to catch an acoustic set of John K. Samson (of the Weakerthans) before the screening of the new doc We're The Weakerthans, We're From Winnipeg at The Royal (608 College Street). [MP3]

Belle and Sebastian - "I Want You Back" (Jackson 5 cover)
Courtesy of Chromewaves, this live cover of the Jackson 5's "I Want You Back" is from Belle and Sebastian's first show at Massey Hall back in 2003. The band returned on October 12 to the famous venue, which you can catch a video of in our new "Toronto Live" section at the bottom of the page. [MP3]

blogTO Indie Exclusive: Zachary Aasman - "Selfish Heart"
Trying a new feature here on A/V - a weekly exclusive track from a local indie artist. Our first Zachary Aasman is a young and talented singer-songwriter based out of Hamilton. His true roots-based Folk music is soaked in honesty, offering a refreshing-yet-classic look at the genre, and I have spent many nights hunkered down in my bedroom with dimmed lights and a set of headphones listening to Zac's latest album Mountain Bluebird, which he is currently selling for $5 via Bandcamp. It's also where you can score the free track "Selfish Heart". [MP3]
