Lady Gaga Rides the Subway in Don Mills
Well... not quite...
This spoof of Lady Gaga's "Love Game" was created at Toronto's Don Mills TTC subway station, by the Terrific T-Dot Team: Mara-Milk Bombaii, Putie Tang, Stepahanie Petal, Indonazn, and Liz Lemon.
According to their blog, they "just had to do it" and it looks like they've had plenty of fun in the process. They've confessed that they "aren't naturally Bay Area material" so I don't think there's any need to ruin the fun of it all by providing "harsh feedback" (as the Youtube video description requests).
Here's the real Lady Gaga, from which the T-Dot Team's spoof was inspired:

really.
Haha.
I'm so witty.
When I watch those parody videos, I cringe with shame for the participants. Unless you're really good, or really funny...don't bother.
Copyright Infringement
At least they are funny(or even funnier) compared to some of the other pretentious garbage thats gets posted. I go to Don Mills everyday (gasp! not downtown!) and let's just say this made me laugh thinking about them filming this up here.
I even checked out the long ass one in front of zellers.
But I'm glad there was no internet around when I was a kid, because this will come back to haunt them.
I definitely enjoyed this Lady Gaga over the real one.
The difference between "Weird" Al and something like this is that Al never directly ripped the song off. He'd at least change the words and re-record the music.
BUT
That's not where I have an issue with this. There are plenty of other Toronto-based artists out there doing original things who have no outlet or who rarely, if ever, get any type of exposure.
Instead of showing off our local talent, BlogTO decides to showcase some really bad "dancing"and even worse lip synching (to a terrible song, nonetheless).
Bah.
can you blame him?
Well... this time we decided we would try our hand at lyrical architecture. In this piece, we, The Terrific T-Dot Team, tell our story of our personal and true fight experiences while waiting for a ride at Wonderland, in the long treacherous Canada Day line at Mandarin, etc.
For a good laugh, please enjoy!
