What's Your Story? An open book

What's Your Story? features the different characters that roam the streets of Toronto. Every Monday and Thursday, a new person shares their story, likes and dislikes about the city, a little secret and more.

Name: Rob

Age: 59

What neighbourhood are you from? East York

What do you 'do'? Compose music and sometimes play it.

How long have you been in Toronto? Forever. I live here.

What's your story?

I used to practice medicine (mostly, psychotherapy) but I always had a passion for music which I did as a hobby. And now, I compose and play music and I'm also writing a book. In-between, I spent time in a Buddhist temple (mostly, Korean).

Favorite thing(s) about Toronto:

Lots of free concerts, especially, the downtown and Beaches Jazz Festival.

Least favorite thing(s) about Toronto:

February.

One thing that your friends/family don't know about you:

I don't think there's anything. I'm pretty much an open book.

What an ugly background to take portrait photos.

Best WYS yet. Dude's so laid back he's got hinges on the heels of his rafting sandals.

I like the background. Especially in the close-up... it's got kind of a Pop Art feel to it and the hyper-consumerism contrasts nicely with the guy's laid-back Buddhist musician thing he's got going on.

@Human:
What an over-used, cheesy concept. Every hippie 'artist' has made that statement lol

Honestly, nothing takes the wind out of even the wittiest, most cuttingly incisive criticism (which Morag's comment wasn't) like a "lol."

Thanks, internet, for so thoughtfully crippling your own spawn.

im sensing a hipster backlash...and a vague definition of hipster

Oh, crap, trying to sound smart! That was a crime back in eighth grade.

I would really like What's Your Story to interview some of the incredibly self-satisfied commentators here on BlogTO. It would be worth seeing what kind of life (and portrait background) we're supposed to admire.

Morag so clever! Morag pretend like another poster because nobody suspect Morag lol. Morag sleepy. Morag scare of hippies. Morag hate pop art. Morag instead prefer Neo Dadaist period. Morag lonely.

Internet is the worst thing that could have happened to humanity.

It used to be 15 minuets of fame now its 15 seconds of fame.

This gentleman had his 15 seconds of fame and now he must contend to live the rest of his life in perpetual obscurity.

Actually, Morag going for more "neanderthal caveman" speaking, and not wisecracking foreigner.

(But Morag flatter that you think him cute.)
